If you love it, you’ll find a place for it!

In this week’s edition of the BH Blog, we’re featuring a funky black and white living room that just might inspire you to add a few new pieces to your line up! The treasures that fill this space span from antiques to animal-inspired to chic… YET… it somehow all ties together, creating a knocked-it-out-of-the-park eclectic black and white living space.

The theme of this blog is that if you love something enough, you will find a place for it! No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

With that, are you ready for the tour?

Ready, set, lets go!

As you can see, the walls of this space are cream, yet several of the pieces in the room are a solid white, including the lambskin rug peeking out from the coffee table!

Mixing in different hues helps create diversity in a room, which is essential in succeeding at creating a home with aesthetic appeal (and we all want that, right?)

If you look closely, you’ll notice this little gem sitting on the coffee table.

This vase was made in Ecuador. The statue in the background? That was carved in the Dominican Republic…adding an element of cultural flair to the room.

Having genuine pieces from around the world truly add something special to a room, not to mention, stories to go along with them.

It’s always nice to have a conversation starter, right?

The mantle in this apartment is about as eclectic as they come!

We are diggin’ the the antique elephant statues, the seashells… the ram horn, not to mention the GIANT turtle shell centerpiece.

Sure – the individual items are about as random as they come, but when placed appropriately, voila! You’ve got yourself a one of a kind display!

The diversity in the heights of the items on the mantle is essential to the overall look and feel of this portion of the living room.

Lastly, the chandelier in this living room ties everything together, and really dresses up the space!

We think it makes for the perfect centerpiece.

If you didn’t think turtle shells, Ecuadorian vases, and chandeliers went together.. you were sorely mistaken!

Like we said, if you love it, you will find a place for it.

That’s the general rule of thumb when it comes to making your house a home…and your home a beautiful one.
