St. Patrick’s Day is fast approaching, and for many of you that means a celebration is in order! You don’t have to have any Irish heritage to enjoy this holiday. Fun fact, Saint Patrick himself was actually British! So bust out your green and clovers, it’s time to plan a party that will make your friends green with envy! We’ve got the perfect party plans and tips right here.

  1. Decorations diy-st-patrick39s-day-decor-college-lifestyles1

A party is never complete without decorations, and St. Patrick’s Day is no different. This party is actually quite easy to decorate for. Just get everything GREEN! Green streamers, green balloons, green clovers, leprechaun decorations, and then throw in some gold coins around the place, and you’re set!

  1. Activities Darts_in_a_dartboard

To throw a party that’ll make your friends truly green with envy, you have to have activities to keep them occupied. If you plan to serve alcohol, there are numerous drinking games – just make sure all guests have designated drivers planned ahead of time. You can also hide cold coins around your apartment and have people find them for prizes. Take an Irish twist on the Mardis Gras King’s Cake, and make cupcakes with one golden center. Whoever picks that cupcake wins a prize. Make sure there’s plenty of Irish/Celtic music playing, and even having Irish themed movies on hand – either set in Ireland or with Irish actors like Pierce Brosnan, Liam Neeson, or Colin Farrell, to name a few. If you feel like going really over the top you could have a dartboard competition or a limerick contest. Your party will for sure be a winner with all of these activities.

  1. Food and Drink St-Patricks-day

This category is the biggest of them all, and really the one that could make or break your entire party. You have to have good food and drink for everyone to make your party a hit. If you’re serving alcohol, then Guinness is a must. Keep the green theme going with some green punch. For food, make the cupcakes from above, and have all of your natural snack foods, but you can put a St. Patrick’s Day twist on it. Have chips and guacamole because it’s green. Cookies with green icing and bowls with green candy. There’s plenty you can do with a green theme and everything will for sure be delicious!
