Attention everyone! Father’s Day is THIS Sunday! Hopefully you’re prepared and you won’t need to read any further, but for those of you who haven’t been keeping track of the calendar, we’re here for you. At this point, you’re down to last minute gifts. Don’t just settle for calling or giving a card. We’ve got a list for you that’s much better than that! Keep reading to find your Father’s Day gift, but first we would like to wish all of the fathers out there a very Happy Father’s Day!
Do-it-yourself gifts are some of the best. They are simple but also sentimental. Parents love them! You could write him a poem, draw him a picture, make a keepsake craft for him with your footprints or handprints, or even color on (and then bake to set – see directions here) some dishware so that it will have your special touch forever. All of these things will be right from your heart and will pull at his heartstrings. He’s sure to love them!
Dads always appreciate you putting in a little extra effort, especially when you don’t have to be asked. Also, most dads typically are very fond of their cars. By volunteering to wash their car, not only do you save yourself money and your dad money, you make everyone happy. You’re giving back to a great guy, and the smile on his face when you get done will put one on your face too. You could also consider giving him a car wash kit along with you washing his car, so in the future he’ll have everything necessary to wash his car baby by hand.
This suggestion is twofold. You could decorate a picture frame for you dad so he can tell it’s homemade and then put a picture of the two of you or the family in it. You can never really have enough framed pictures, especially of dad and kids. Alternatively, you could put something sentimental in the frame like the definition of a father, or the spelling out of DAD or I LOVE YOU on blocks. Either way, it’ll be something he’ll want to keep forever.
Everyone loves breakfast. It’s the most important meal of the day! There are so many delicious things about breakfast: eggs, toast, French toast, sausage, hash browns, grits, coffee, cereal, muffins, waffles, BACON! What is there not to love about breakfast? Nothing really. And your dad will surely love breakfast in bed as a present. He’ll get to sleep in while you get up bright and early to make him a delicious meal. Yum!
The coupon book gift has been around for a while. It’s often thought of as a last minute gift, but it does involve quite a bit of committed effort. First, you have to put the effort into making it, and you can be as creative as you want. You can be simple, or you can go all out and make it very fancy. After that, think about what your dad likes. Maybe give him a couple free hours of TV watching? A free meal made by you? A free massage? A free car wash or cleaning? Or you could even give him a free day with you to do anything he wants. The possibilities are really endless, but make sure to include a few sentimental things like a free hug. He’ll definitely love it!
