2016’s Pantone Color of the Year

For the first time in Pantone’s “Color of the Year” history, they have chosen the blending of two shades. This pairing brings calm and relaxation. The first, Rose Quartz, is a “persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure.” The second, Serenity, is “weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times.”

To many, 2015 was a stressful and turbulent year. The combination of Rose Quartz and Serenity provide a sense of order and peace, as well as a sense of balance and tranquility. It is the calm after the storm.

While this combination seems very soft and airy, it is actually quite versatile. It is appealing in all finishes, and with all ranges of colors.
